Our review process
What goes into every review on this site.
1. Research
We start with the manufacturer's official specs and documentation, then cross-check against the Amazon product listing.
2. Owner feedback synthesis
We read through current verified-buyer reviews on Amazon, kamado forums (Kamado Guru, Reddit r/kamado), and YouTube long-term owner videos. We summarize the patterns — what owners praise consistently, and what they complain about after a season of cooking.
3. Hands-on context
Where we've cooked on the model ourselves, we say so. Where we haven't, we say that too — and we lean harder on owner feedback for our judgement.
4. Independent commentary
Every review includes original analysis: who the grill is best for, where it falls short, and which alternatives we'd shortlist against it. We never copy Amazon's bullet points.
5. Editorial review
Every page is read end-to-end before publishing for accuracy, tone, and Amazon Associates compliance.
6. Updates
Reviews are revisited at least annually, and immediately when a model is replaced or significantly revised.
